Überfest recommendations

November 16, 2006 at 2:46 pm (airviper, Überfest)

After recovering from the horror that was only 30 minutes of my Sunday its back to work for me.

Its time for Überfest, well almost. (since I’m taking German I will spell it correctly) Right now the club is just looking for some recommendations for Überfest. Just post some recommendations to this post for now, and I’ll compile it later and put it on the message board as a poll.

I’m recommending to finish Black Blood Brothers since the club watched 1-5 and it is a 12 episode series. Also, who doesn’t love seeing a ten-year-old vampire get the crap beat out of him?

The List as of Nov 16:

  1. Death Note
  2. Black Blood Brothers
  3. Ergo Proxy
  4. Noir
  5. Black Lagoon
  6. D Gray Man
  7. Haibane Renmei
  8. Koi Kaze (just because Mike said not to)
  9. Some Random Gundam
  10. Tenchi Muyo
  11. Outlaw Star
  12. Naruto Movie
  13. Inuyasha Movie
  14. Disgaea
  15. Memories OVA
  16. Red Garden
  17. Densha Otoko
  18. FLCL (I would prefer not to)

Disgaea! Come on, so need to watch Laharl–I don’t care how bad they say it is!

I also wouldn’t mind a return to the past with Genshiken; you know from last year–just not Koi Kaze. Ugh.

And of course I’m always up for some Gundam, Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, etc.
And if we haven’t watched them by that point, perhaps an Inuyasha movie or Naruto movie. Za.

After watching the first episode, I’d like to motion a veto on Black Blood Brothers.

    Now let’s see…

    Memories OVA
    Red Garden
    FLCL
    DENSHA OTOKO

what’s so bad about BBB? I also motion a veto on FLCL.

I vote no on Noir. We sqw it already, after all. Also no on FLCL, Scott. It’s been done. Repeatedly.

Haibane Renmei would be cool, if anyone has the first four eps. No to the Naruto movie. No to Tenchi, no to Outlaw Star.

I’m thinking Code Geass, Kanon, and Welcome to the NHK are are good possibilities, if we can get them. Also the first four eps of live-action Sailor Moon, for our necessary trauma quotient.

And see if you can find the Keroro Gunsou movie.

Remember people: the fewer licensed shows on the list, the better.

Oh, and maybe some of Honey and Clover II. Just because.

I’ll post some more thoughts (and obviously the final list) later.

Ahem, ok, so it’s not allowing me to create a new post but…this is the tentative schdule for Uberfest for this semester.
It shall start this Friday at 7pm in Ward 2 and go on for 24 hours of anime madness!
    And now, for the shows…

    7pm-9pm: Princess Tutu (Finish series)
    9pm-11pm: Kashimashi (finishing series)
    11pm-1pm: Black Lagoon (1-4)
    1am-3am: Deathnote (1-4)
    3am-5am: Code Gesse (1-4)
    5am-7am: Sailor Moon Live Action
    7am-9am: Hanbei Ranmei (1-4)
    9am-11am: Yammaite Japan (1-4)
    11am-1pm:Full Metal Panic (1-4)
1pm-3pm: Welcome to the NHK (1-4)
3pm-5pm: Honey and Clover II (1-4)
    5pm-7pm: Keroro Gunsou Movie

Note that this can and will change: time between shows will be used for AMVs, and breaks, and we might decide to show slgithly more or less of one show if the crowd demends it; but this is the first schdule made by Seth and myself.

However, Seth, Deathnote and Sailor Moon Live action seems to be the two most popular ones to be seen, at least to when I’ve talked to people; how about switching Welcome to the NHK with Deathnote (Deathnote more popular with anime fans, NHK more otakuish), and Sailor Moon with Full Metal Panic (a show that has been seen by many already)
That would my two cents, but please, give your ideas. The AUAS will listen.

    Baka…system won’t let me log on…anyways…
So, after talking to Kristen and Sarah, they pointed out that Honey and Clover II, which has one of the best time slots of non-otaku but anime fans to show up, is really a bad choice for that spot; after all, only people who watched ast year will really enjoy it. Thus, with my own recommadations, this is the new Uberfest schedule….
    7pm-9pm: Princess Tutu (Finish series)
    9pm-11pm: Kashimashi (finishing series)
    11pm-1pm: Black Lagoon (1-4)
    1am-3am: Code Gesse (1-4)
3am-5am: Welcome to the NHK (1-4)
5am-7am: Honey and Clover II (1-4)
    7am-9am: Hanbei Ranmei (1-4)
    9am-11am: Yakikate Japan (1-4)
    11am-1pm:Sailor Moon Live Action (1-4)
    1pm-3pm: Deathnote (1-4)
    3pm-5pm: Full Metal Panic (1-4)
    5pm-7pm: Keroro Gunsou Movie
Note: If any of these shows or movie somehow cannot be shown, then Ergo Proxy (1-4) will takes it place. I would like to finalize by TODAY, so please, give your opinions!
